1939-1945 Star; Africa Star, with replacement 8th Army clasp; Italy Star; France and Germany Star; Defence Medal; War Medal. Court mounted as worn. very fine (6)

Dennis Roy John Goodwin was born on 28 April 1920 and was a Coach Finisher prior to enlistment on 17 December 1942 into the General Service Corps. He transfers to the Wiltshire Regiment on 27 January 1943.

He was discharged at Devizes, Wiltshire on 21 December 1946.

The lot includes the following archive:

Soldier's Release Book.

(ii)
Identity Card.

(iii)
Soldier's Service and Pay Book.

(iv)
Certificate of Transfer to the Army Reserve.

(v)
Patients Discharge Certificate, dated 10 March 1944, having been discharged from No.9 Convalescent Depot, relating to his right foot.

(vi)
Record of Service Card dated 10 January 1947.

(vii)
Wiltshire British Legion National Standard Bearer Certificate for 1955, where he was Winner of Group III of the County Stage.

(viii)
Two photographs of him at Royal British Legion events, holding the standard and wearing medals (note the clasp is not on his Africa Star in the photographs).

(ix)
Corresponding miniatures, cap badges and buttons etc.

(x)
Assorted ephemera, blazer badge and cloth badges (2).

(xi)
Assorted penknives and a button stick.
