Harold Leslie Stone was born in February 1910 and enlisted for the British Army in October 1932. He is confirmed upon the Medal Roll as serving with the 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers for Operations on the North-West Frontier of India; a note on the Roll also states 'Now 2nd Bn. SWB', which likely saved his life as the 1st Battalion were all but wiped out during the fighting around Tobruk a few years later. Sold with copied Medal Roll extract.
