Arthur Elliott was born at Hockering, Norfolk and enlisted at Downham, Norfolk, being posted to the 8th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Entering the war at some stage after 1916 he was with this unit during the Battle of Passchendaele and was mortally wounded there. Elliott died of wounds on 9 November 1917 and is buried at Dozinghem Military Cemetery.
