Blott), with its forwarding slip; Canadian Tribute Medal, gold (10 carat), the reverse with details 'Presented to C. Mc.G. Blott by the citizens of Wardsville for gallant services in the Great War 1914-18', good very fine (5)

Charles McGregor Blott was born on 16 November 1890 at Wardsville, Ontario and joined the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders of Canada at Vancouver on 19 August 1914. He joined the Canadian Scottish on 22 September 1914 and served with them on the Western Front. Blott was killed in action on 23 April 1915 during the actions at St Julien, when he shared in their night charge on the enemy. He is commemorated upon the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial; sold together with a postcard of the recipient, with details inscribed to the reverse.
