Francois Nicholas Jacobus Badenhorst attested on 23 June 1916 at the age of 18 and was discharged in March 1926, after just short of 10 years' service. Participating in the German South-West Africa Campaign, his Squadron Commander noted him as a 'Steady, reliable man' and his general character was noted as 'Very Good'; sold together with original Certificate of Discharge noting these particulars and various other details.
