India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, North West Frontier, Pegu (Drr. Jas Stanley. 18th Royal Irish Regt); Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (+ 229 + James Stanley. 18th R. I. Regt.), Regimentally impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, fitted with replacement silver ring suspension (2297. J. Stanley. 18th R. I. Regt.) impressed some contact marks throughout, otherwise very fine (3)
James Stanley attested for the 18th Regiment of Foot in 1846. After service in Burma and the Crimea he returned to India and in 1865 volunteered for the 19th Regiment of Foot and served on the North East Frontier. He was discharged in Gosport, Hampshire in 1872.
