Pair: Corporal S. Fagg, Royal Horse Artillery, who was invalided from the Crimea and died in India during the Mutiny
Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Dvr. Stephn. Fagg. Rl. Horse Arty.); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, good very fine (2)
Stephen Fagg served with 'A' Troop, Royal Horse Artillery in the Crimea with the service number 1780. It appears that the poor climate around Sebastopol affected his health as he is listed as invalided from the theatre. Fagg later appeared on the Indian Mutiny roll as entitled to a Medal without clasp; at the time he was serving in 'D' Troop. The Crimea roll notes that Fagg died in India, presumably having failed to recover properly from his illness in the Crimea.
