India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Hazara 1888 (1546 Pte J. Waters 2d Bn R. Ir. R.) a couple of light edge bruises, marks to the Queen's chin and slightly below, otherwise very fine

John Waters was born at Mullinahone, Tipperary in 1866 and attested into the Royal Irish Rifles on 7 January 1884 at Clonmel. He was placed in Confinement between 30 June 1884 - 6 July 1884 and then imprisoned between 7 July 1884 - 6 January 1885. He served in India between 7 January 1885 - 14 November 1891. He was further convicted of assault and was consequently imprisoned on 11 May 1893 until 10 June 1893, and was further imprisoned for drunkenness between 26 October 1894 - 6 November 1894. Waters was discharged on 6 January 1896.
