The Battle of Waterloo, a trial striking for an unfinished commemorative medal, obverse featuring the Duke of Wellington bare-headed, reverse Victory crowning a seated warrior with laurel leaves, (B.H.M. 876), bronze, unnamed as issued, 66mm, small edge knocks, lightly polished, about very fine

Designed by William Stephen Mossop, son of Irish medallist William Mossop, assumed control of the family business in 1805 upon the death of his father: though he produced many medals up until his own death in 1827, this design for a Waterloo Medal was never fully realised.
