(x) Army L.S. & G.C. V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (623 Sergt J. J. Wellham 6th Dragoon Guards), good very fine

John Joseph Wellham enlisted as a Boy at the age of 11 on 31 December 1859 with the Coldstream Guards. Later advanced Drummer on 9 April 1864, he transferred to the 6th Dragoon Guards the next year. He saw service in Afghanistan while a Sergeant from 24 October 1879-26 August 1880 (Medal no clasp). Wellham was discharged on 30 June 1891.
