Samuel Jospeh Baxter was born at Hamilton, Ontario on 11 June 1875 and was a conductor by trade. He served during the Great War in France with the Canadian Army Medical Corps, initially as a water detail to the Canadian Machine Gun Corps and then with the 5th Field Ambulance; sold together with riband bar.
