(x) Distinguished Service Medal, G.V.R., (C.3420. W. Patience, Lg. Sea. R.N.R. H.M.Tr. Tourmaline. Aux. Patrol. 1916.), good very fine

D.S.M. London Gazette 27 June 1917, the original citation states:

'For services in vessels of the Auxiliary Patrol between 1 February and 31 December 1916.

The armed trawler H.M.S. Tourmaline was utilized as a minesweeper from March 1915-1919, she served as part of the Dover Patrol; sold together with a copied medal roll.

Further entitled to the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals.
