John James Fenton, who was born at St. Dunstans Road (Workhouse, Fulham, London), was mentioned in despatches for his services in the Mediterranean theatre of war (London Gazette 23 May 1946, refers).

He was awarded his I.S.M. for services as a motor driver for the General Post Office (London Gazette 30 November 1965, refers).
