William Frank Yendall enlisted in the period from July 1921. His I.S.M. was awarded whilst he was a Charge Hand Mechanical Transport Fitter at the Ministry of Defence (Royal Air Force) (London Gazette 25 June 1968, refers); sold together with a riband bar for the first two medals and a Permanent Pass, dated 3 July 1926, issued from M.T., R.D., Royal Air Force, Harlescott, Salop.
