Leonard Bryan enlisted with the West Yorkshire Regiment on 7 September 1914 and entered the war with the 1st/7th Battalion on 16 April 1915 (Star). Transferring to the 5th Battalion as a Lane-Corporal Bryan was discharged in this rank on 7 August 1918.
