Legge wrote in his report that she fired two torpedoes from 7,000 yards at the German Scouting Group at, shortly after the Germans had reversed course to the South. Legge believed that one of his torpedoes may have struck the last German ship in the line, but no hits were made.

Reynolds remained in the service and earned his L.S. & G.C. Medal in November 1929 before being issued a Hurt Certificate after being slightly injured by an explosion on Westcott on 18 March 1936. He was shore pensioned on 2 October 1936 but was recalled for the Second World War. Posted to Clematis from 19 November 1940, he was present in December for Convoy WS 5A, when they came under attack by the German heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper.
