C. Elkington represented the 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment as a heavyweight boxer in the Inter-Unit Army Competition on Malta on 28 September 1935. He made it to the final round before being knocked out by the champion of the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers; sold together with a typed index card.
