Territorial Force War Medal 1914-19 (264 Cpl. F. Allen. Dorset R.), nearly extremely fine

Fred Allen was born at St. James, Poole, Dorset in 1876 and joined the Volunteer Force on 3 April 1908. Appointed Lance-Corporal on 3 April 1911 he was embodied for service on 4 August 1914. Promoted Corporal while on active service on 26 September 1914 Allen was posted to India where he was to serve until 17 May 1916. Returning to Britain he was discharged on 22 May.
