The Great War Memorial Plaque to Second Lietenant L. G. H. Brown, Royal Flying Corps, who was killed in action on 6 December 1917

Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Lionel George Henry Brown), extremely fine

Lionel George Henry Brown originally enlisted into the 18th Bn (1st Public School) Royal Fusiliers and was first commissioned into the General List and then into the Royal Flying Corps on 4 July 1917.

He flew from Dunkirk as an Observer on an RE8 (A3642) flying with 2/Lt C S Read (Pilot) as part of 52 Squadron on 8 December 1917, and in turn was reported as missing. The entry on his "Movements" document dated 15 November 1918: 'No further report, death is now accepted for official purposes as having occurred on or since 8.12.17'.

He is commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial, his medals were issued by the R.F.C. and these were sent to his mother Mrs Alice Brown.
