Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Alexander McHattie),some scratching on reverse, otherwise very fine
Alexander McHattie was born at Aberdeen, the son of A. McHattie of 21 Kirk Street, Old Meldrum, Aberdeenshire and enlisted at Cowdenbeath. Entering the war in France on 12 October 1914, he died of wounds during the Somme Offensive on 13 July 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Royal Highlanders. He is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension.
