Victory Medal 1914-19 (3) (M2-054303 Pte. W. Evans. A.S.C.); (20026 Pte. J. H. Brightwell. K.S.L.I.); (3200 Pte. J. Street. Devon. R.), good very fine

William Evans of 8 Portman Street, Rowbarton, Taunton, Somerset served with the Mechanical Transport Tractor Depot, Army Service Corps during the Great War. He died of Meningitis at Isolation Hospital, Ham Green on 2 December 1916, being buried at Bristol (Arnos Vales) Cemetery. He was survived by his with Christiana Evans of No. I Court, Paill Street, Taunton; sold together with typed notes, a copied research including, Commonwealth War Graves Certificate, M.I.C. and death certificate.

John Henry Brightwell married Elizabeth Brightwell of 9 Henshaw Lane, Yeadon, Leeds. Entering the war with the Royal Army Medical Corps with the service number 55264 he was transferred to the 5th Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry. While serving with this unit when he was mortally wounded, dying on 12 September 1917, he is buried at St. Sever Cemetery Extension II.

Jack Street was born in 1890, the son of Albert and Maria Street of 20 Saxe Street, Teignmouth. Attesting with the 1st/6th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment he was later given a new service number, 266463. While serving in Mesopotamia Street was found to be suffering with the effects of Heat Exhaustion, he died from this at Basra on 26 July 1917 and is buried at Basra War Cemetery; sold together with typed research and copied research including Commonwealth War Graves Certificate, M.I.C. and death certificate.
