Arthur Nathaniel Wade was born in Hull and enlisted with the 1st/4th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment while there, being posted to the 14th Platoon. Entering the war in France on 17 April 1915 he was soon listed as missing in action. Wade was declared killed in action on 1 May, it is likely he was killed during the opening days of the Second Battle of Ypres. Wade is commemorated upon the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
Arthur Lindsey Measor was born at Brighton and enlisted at Weston-Super-Mare with the Durham Light Infantry. Posted to the 13th Battalion he entered the war in France after 1916 and was killed in action on 20 October 1917. He is commemorated upon the Tyne Cot Memorial.
John Blackwood was born at Hamilton, Lanarkshire in 1895, son of James and Annie Blackwood of Beaton's Lodge, Larkhall. Enlisting at Glasgow with the Cameron Highlanders he entered the war on 8 June 1915 (Star) only to be killed in action just two month later on 25 September 1915. He is commemorated upon the Loos Memorial.
James Ferguson served with the 1st/4th Battalion, Somersetshire Light during the Great War. He is confirmed as further entitled to the Territorial Force War Medal for his service.
George Robert Coulson was born at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, the son of Frederick and Esther Coulson, enlisting there for the Lincolnshire Regiment. Entering the war in France on 17 August 1915 with the 1st/5th Battalion he was died of wounds on 10 November 1915. He is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery.
