Bernard Leighton served in France with the London Scottish from June 1916 before being commissioned into the Royal Army Service Corps in August 1917, ending the conflict as a Lieutenant. Additionally entitled to the Victory Medal 1914-19 and a Silver War Badge (number 451751), his M.I.C. notes his forwarding address as 'Kenilworth', King's Road, Richmond, Surrey.
George Frederick Sparke attested for military service on 11 February 1916 and was posted to the 3rd Battalion 14th London Regiment; appointed Lance-Corporal, he later lost his single stripe for 'Overstaying Leave to G.B.' and is additionally entitled to the British War Medal 1914-20.
