British War Medal 1914-20 (3) (G. Summers, Fmn. M.F.A.); (B.Z.5078 R. H. Bott. A.B. R.N.V.R.); (BZ,11382 C. Hitchens. Ord. R.N.V.R.), good very fine
Reginald Henry Bott was born on 27 August 1895 and lived at 26 Gordon Road, Wellingborough while working as a Tailor's Trimmer prior to enrolling on 11 December 1915. Reporting for duty on 16 June 1916 he entered the war in France with Drake Battalion on 21 December. However he was present for long before being admitted to no. 30 General Hospital at Calais on 23 March 1917 and invalided home later that month. Returning to France in September he was again invalided aboard H.M.T. Princess Elizabeth on 8 November 1917. Bott was discharged on 22 January 1919.; sold together with copied service papers.
Cecil Hitchens was born at Birmingham on 15 January 1900 and enrolled with the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve on 11 March 1918. He served ashore during the war, being demobilised on 28 December 1918; sold together with a copied medal roll.
