The Royal Navy officer's Full Dress sword attributed to Commander Charles Frederick Nock D.S.O, O.B.E., who was awarded a well-deserved Distinguished Service Order in 1942 'For courage, endurance, and devotion to duty in Minesweeping operations'

Royal Navy officer's regulation pattern Full Dress sword, lion-head pommel with white fish-skin grip, guard with usual locking mechanism and 'King's' crown above fouled anchor, blade with usual Royal coat-of-arms, foliate and anchor decoration, by Wm. Anderson and Sons, Naval Outfitters, Edinburgh & Glasgow, regulation pattern blue and gold bullion sword knot, correct scabbard with all brass fittings, leather a little cracked and dry, 935mm including pommel, some minor surface rust to blade, gilding mostly worn off around guard, otherwise an attractive example

Charles Frederick Nock was born in 1899 and saw service afloat during the Great War, before commanding the armed boarding vessel H.M.S. Goodwin between 1939 - 1940.
