Sherriff of City of York, Ex-Sheriff's Badge, dated '1932-33', by J. Fattorini, hallmarks for 9 carat gold (18.9g), good very fine, in its A. E. Hopper, York case of issue

Attributed to Colonel Peter Warren C.M.G., O.B.E., who served with the 8th Battalion, London Regiment and the Royal Engineers (Postal Section) in France during 1914. He went to work closely with General Allenby in Palestine and was credited with the excellent communications they were endowed with.
