A rare and unusual Vietnamese Ruban d'Amitie group of seven awarded to Instructor Lieutenant-Commander A. G. Thoday, Royal Navy, who served at the Egyptian Shore establishment Nile as the Staff Meteorological Officer during the Second World War
Later to be awarded the Ruban d'Amitie as part of the crew of H.M.S. Warrior for the evacuation of Vietnamese refugees in September 1954

Sold together with an original letter confirming permission to wear the Vietnamese award, in an O.H.M.S. named envelope; four buttons; and a corresponding riband bar as well as a copied Navy List for 1943.
