William Ward Sheader was born on 27 August 1917 and worked as a Chair Beamer prior to enlisting at Larkhill, London on 15 February 1940. Serving with No. 65 Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery (Field) he saw service in Africa and Italy. Sheader was discharged on 29 April 1946 at Ashton-under-Lyme; sold together with an archive of original material comprising:

Soldier's Pay Book.

Discharge documents.
iv)
Pension documents.
v)
A copy of 'Tannoy The Voice of the Battery' dated 8 July 1945.
