Samuel Gooch was born in 1891 and enlisted with the 2nd/10th Battalion, Manchester Regiment on 24 November 1915 for service in the Great War. Discharged on 10 April 1918 he returned home to Ardwick Manchester; sold together with an original, named box of issue.
