William Bletzo Peacock was born at Somersham, Cambridgeshire in 1891, the son of Samuel and Fanny Peacock of 25 Main Street, Somersham. Working as a Hawker at a Green Grocers prior to the Great War before enlisting at Huntingdon with the 9th Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Peacock was killed during the fighting on 3 September 1916 and is commemorated upon the Thiepval Memorial.
