Charles William Holloway was born in 1900, the son of Harry and Elizabeth Holloway of 113, Myrtle Road, Hounslow. He served in France with the 4th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, died of pneumonia on 13 December 1918 and is buried in the Etaples Cemetery. His original wooden Graves Registration Unit cross was donated for display at the Great War Huts in 2018.
