Danaher); National Fire Brigade Association Bronze Medal, 2 Bars, Five Years, Ten Years, officially numbered '8001' and additionally engraved 'John E. Danaher Cromer 1925'; National Fire Brigade Association Silver Medal, 1 clasp, Twenty Years, officially numbered '4910' and additionally engraved 'John E. Danaher Cromer Fire Brigade', very fine (7)

John Edward Danaher was born in 1873, the son of John Edward Danaher. He joined the Cromer Lifeboat and was presented his Long Service Medal by F. H. Barclay on 12 November 1914. During the Great War he served in France with the Army Service Corps from 6 March 1915. A founder member of the Cromer British Legion Branch, he served on the Services and Branch Committees. A plumber in the local area by trade, he also served in the Cromer Fire Brigade for a long period and played for the local football and cricket teams. He died in early 1956; sold together with copied research.
