John Baker was born at Birmingham in 1895, the son of John and Eliza Baker of Ivythorpe, Eachway, Rubery, Birmingham. He entered the war in France on 13 July 1915 and was killed in action prior to the Somme Offensive on 4 May 1916; sold together with a copied photograph and Commonwealth War Graves certificate
