Purchased September 1996.

Herbert William Grubb was the son of Charles and Mary Grubb, of Stone Cottage, Penshurst, Kent. He served on Gallipoli with the 2/4th Battalion from 1 August 1915 and died of wounds at sea on 23 October 1915. Aged just 22 years, he is commemorated upon the Helles Memorial, besides the Chiddingstone Causeway, Penshurst and Edenbridge Hospital War Memorials.
