John Ernest Miller was born at Cirencester and was a clerk upon his joining the Royal Army Medical Corps on 29 August 1901, having previously been a member of the 5th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. He served in South Africa from 12 April 1902-4 March 1907 and also saw service at Bermuda. He was in Sierra Leone from 21 February 1914-10 May 1915 and thence served in Egypt and Mesopotamia from 1916-18. Miller was aboard the Hospital Ship Salta from September 1915-October 1916 and was discharged in August 1922; sold together with copied service record.
