Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (3726 Pte. H. White, 1: Leic: Regt.), good very fine

Harry White was born in Leicester and joined the Leicestershire Regiment in March 1893 but was released the following year after a string of misdemeanours, including using threatening language. Re-joining the Regiment in May 1898, he served with them in the Boer War, being fined in early 1900 for '...disobeying a lawful command' and was posted missing at Nooitgedacht on 13 December 1900, returning ten days later. Having returned home in 1902, he went absent without leave for a week and was discharged in March 1905.

Entitled to clasps for Talana, Defence of Ladysmith, Laing's Nek and Belfast.
