Afghanistan 1878-80, no clasp (820 Pte Ar. Foley. 63rd Regt.), good very fine

Arthur Foley was born at Salford, Lancaster in 1856 and worked as a Coach Builder prior to enlistment on 23 September 1876. Serving at home for several years he was posted to India on 29 September 1879, joining the war in Afghanistan on 20 August 1880. Returning to India on 9 December 1881 he was posted to Egypt for service during the British intervention there on 7 September 1882. Returning home on 3 November 1883 he served here until discharge on 22 September 1888.
