South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp 1879 (613. Pte. C. Black. 90th Foot.), minor contact wear overall, very fine

One of 388 awarded the 1879 clasp.

C. Black is confirmed on the roll for the 90th (Perthshire Volunteers) Light Infantry Regiment. This unit was part of Evelyn Wood's column during the invasion of Zululand, being heavily in action at Kambula. They later took part in the advance on the Royal Kraal at Ulundi with eleven men wounded during the fighting; sold together with typed research and copied medal rolls.
