Ashantee 1873-74, no clasp (J. Blake, Pte. R.M., H.M.S, Active, 73-74), light contact marks, very fine

Joseph Blake was born on 2 February 1853 and lived at Studley Reddich, Warwickshire, he was a Needlemaker prior to his service in the Royal Marines Light Infantry. Enlisting on 28 February 1871 at Birmingham he was appointed Corporal during his service but later reduced back to Private in August 1880. Blake was discharged on the 30 August 1892.

Further entitled to the Egypt and Sudan Medal with Tel-El-Kebir clasp and Khedive's Star.
