(x) Punjab 1848-49, 1 clasp, Mooltan (Lieut. Walter Neil Dyett, 3rd Regt. N.I.), fitted with silver top riband buckle, very fine

Walter Neil Dyett was born on 12 January 1826, the son of Henry and Harriott, of Holy Cross, Walthamstow. Young Dyett was educated at Upper Canada College and entered the Indian Army in 1843, having been recommended for a Cadetship by Sir Francis Collier. Having been made Lieutenant in April 1845, he saw active service in the Punjab (Medal & clasp) and was made Captain in January 1859, having been a Brigade Major at Rajcot in December 1856. Dyett retired in 1861.
