1866 (29 May) wrapper to Boston, U.S.A. "Via Marseilles" bearing 6c. lilac and 48c. rose-carmine, paying the 2/2½d. rate (54c.) to U.S.A., cancelled by "B62" in black with "1" and "2/1½" rate marks in manuscript, London Paid (16.7) and "boston am pkt/paid" (20.7) c.d.s. in red with "21/cents" accountancy handstamp in red. The reverse bears a strike of the large, double-oval "forwarded by/augustine heard & co./hong kong" in red with Hong Kong despatch c.d.s.; adhesive both faulty (since the origin and as usually encountered in the Heard correspondence), otherwise fresh and attractive.
