1882 (Sept.) envelope to Hannover, bearing 1879 Type 17 1d. carmine-red strip of three in combination with Cape 4d. blue, all cancelled by light Cape d.s., alongside marked "2½" in red, the reverse with Cape Town (5.9) and London (27.9) transit d.s.; a ½d. stamp missing for the 7½d. rate to Germany, a part of the flap removed and a few minor imperfections, nevertheless a scarce cover from this popular area.
