Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Period, Fine Silver Issue, Shilling, 1551-1553, Southwark (Under-Treasurer, Sir John Yorke), crowned bust facing, dividing rose and value, rev. square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 6.17g, 4h, m.m. y (North 1937; Spink 2482), some minor graffito in reverse left field and sporadic digs to flan, otherwise lightly cabinet toned and handsomely accentuated with colourful iridescence in recesses, a bolder fine, an increasingly popular type
