18th Century Quarter-Guineas (2) George I (1714-1727), Quarter-Guinea, 1718, laureate bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, five strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 2.03g, 6h (MCE 277; EGC 550; Schneider II, 554; Spink 3638); also, George III (1760-1820), Quarter-Guinea, 1762, laureate head right, rev. crowned and garnished shield, seven strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 2.11g, 7h (MCE 463; EGC 886; Spink 3741), both removed from mounts, the first crimped and dented, the second with residual solder marks, both bright but residually lustrous and struck details bolder than very fine (2)
