George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Crown, 1716 SECVNDO, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in alternate angles, eleven strings to harp, edge lettered downwards, 30.02g, 6h (ESC 110; Bull 1540 [A/1]; Spink 3639), curious castaing-machine flaw with flatness of edge lettering at 12 and 6 o'clock the result of a manufacturing error, otherwise nicely toned with hints of residual lustre, good very fine
