Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Mestrelle's Milled Issue, Sixpence, 1567, Tower [Upper House], reads REGI, smaller crowned bust F left, wearing ornately decorated bodice, rev. square-topped shield over long cross double-fourchée, edge plain, 3.02g, 8h, m.m. lys (Borden & Brown 37 [O1/R1]; North 2030; Spink 2599), lightly flecked and with usual die flaw in reverse upper field, otherwise handsomely cabinet toned, the reverse with rich iridescence overlying residual lustre in recesses, a most pleasing and wholesome good very fine, seldom encountered so presentable
