15th Century Groats (3): Henry V (1413-1422), Class C, crowned bust facing, mullet on right shoulder, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, double saltire stops, long cross with trefoil of pellets in angles, 3.26g, 11h, m.m. pierced cross (North 1387; Spink 1765), scratched portrait, light tone, detailed reverse, fine or better; also, Henry VI (1422-1461), Annulet Issue, c. 1422-1427, Calais, similar, annulets at neck, rev. VILLA : CALISIE : long cross and trio of pellets to angles, 3.81g, 3h (North 1427; Spink 1836), slight scratches to portrait, with peripheral softenss, toned, very fine; lastly, Edward IV, First Reign (1461-1470), Light coinage, Type VIII, London, as before, quatrefoils by neck and upon breast, trefoils on cusp, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, saltire after DEVM, 2.93g, 2h, i.m. crown/sun (Blunt & Whitton VIII; North 1571; Spink 2001), some striking softness, but darkly toned and lustrous, good fine or better (3)
