The Quidenham Hoard of 10th Century Silver Pennies | Wessex, Edward the Elder (899-924), Penny, + EADVVEARD EX, finely incised laureate and draped bust right, rev. (trefoil) + (trefoil) | IIEIOIEB | + + + | IIEICIOB | (trefoil) + (trefoil), in two lines divided by row of three cross pattées, 1.56g [24.07grns], 5h (PAS NMS-F38064 = BM 2020T219, no. 6 this coin; Dies not represented in Morley; North 651; Spink -), minor delamination and struck with rusty dies, peripheral rusty spots, otherwise pleasantly struck up very fine, an exceptionally rare variety
