Kent, Cuthred (798-807), 'Cross and Wedges' Type, Penny, Canterbury, Eaba, + CVÐRED REX - CANT, contraction bar above T, diademed and draped bust right, of accomplished style, rev. + EABA MONETA, lombardic M, short cross, wedges in angles, 1.32g [20.37grns], 9h, 18.36mm diameter (Naismith C31 this coin not listed; SCBI 11 [Reading], 13 same obverse die; PAS KENT-143820 this coin; North 211; Spink 877), chipped to edge with an exposed additional section of rim, minor die breaks to reverse, otherwise a remarkable and beautiful portrait coin for Cuthred, struck details bolder than very fine, very rare thus and with a secure findspot
