Iron Age Britain, Atrebates and Regni, Uninscribed Coinage (c. 60-40 BC), 'Selsey Dahlia' Type, AV Quarter-Stater, debased laureate head of Apollo right, rev. triple-tailed annulate horse right, 'no mane' variety, sun motif above, wheel below, spike piercing neck, [Spink XRF: 55.91% Au; 32.25% Ag; 11.55% Cu; 0.29% Fe], 1.368g [21.11grns], 9h, 16.7mm. x 13.2mm. diameter (Remic Qc; VA 220; Mack 65; BMC 478-484; ABC 503; Spink 48), on an irregular, elliptical flan, on a rich honey-golden flan with much residual lustre in recesses, a pleasingly bold very fine, scarcer in higher grades and especially when exhibiting the extremities of the obverse die
